We will also invite you to meet the Principal and Syndicate Leaders.
New Entrant Enrolments: Before your child turns five, you will be contacted and given dates for your visits on a Friday from 8.50 – 10.30am. On your first visit, you will be given a pack which has information about school, health card and stationery requirements.
NEW PARENTS MORNING TEA
The Parent Teacher Association organises morning teas at school to allow new parents to meet staff, Board of Trustees and PTA as well as other new parents. These morning teas are by invitation, with a reminder in the school newsletter.
SCHOOL DONATION
The Board of Trustees ask that parents make an annual donation of $160 per child, discounted to $140 if paid by 31st March. The Board of Trustees use the income from your school donation to supplement the Operations Grant given by the Government. This allows for our school to be richly resourced and offer your child the very best learning opportunities. Please enquire at the school office about paying your School Donation in instalments.
EFTPOS
The school office has Eftpos facilities to enable parents quick and easy payment of School Donations, Post School Fees and other related expenses. There is no ‘cash out’ facility.
STAFF AND TEACHER MEETINGS
Meetings are held on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons.
Parents are asked not to make appointments to see teachers on these days.
SCHOOL WIDE BEHAVIOUR MANAGEMENT PROCEDURE
Our school-wide expectation is ‘RESPECT'. As a school community we value RESPECT for self, others and property. All pupils are expected to:
- Use ‘please’ and ‘thank you’ at all times.
- Use common courtesies such as allowing adults to go first.
- Respond when spoken to.
Behaviour issues are dealt with immediately by Duty/Classroom teachers. Teachers aim for positive outcomes in helping children to develop strategies for resolving conflict. Extreme behaviour and consequences are dealt with immediately and recorded by staff.
Steps for disrespectful behaviour:
Junior Syndicate Time Out:
- Sit in the place where the incident occurred (weather dependent)
- Sit in a hoop
Middle & Senior Syndicate Time Out:
- Benched (bench in quad visible to duty teacher)
- Sit in the place where the incident occurred (weather dependent)
A letter home for severe behaviour/multiple offenders. Teachers and Syndicate Leaders are responsible for monitoring this. If there is no improvement in behaviour the Deputy Principal or the Principal with the parents concerned put strategies in place to resolve the problem.'
